The huge asteroid, also known as “Failure”, was once the mistaken destination of mankind’s first wave of migration. When they recognized their navigation error and moved on to Utopia Beta, they called this barren rock in space their failure.
It’s an asteroid the size of a medium-sized planet. From which unimaginably enormous celestial body it broke off before it was captured by the gravitational field of the star Kendar, is unknown. The lump is rich in heavy metals and other raw materials, but mining them would be much more expensive than on Nagakira and other mining worlds, so there are no facilities there yet.
