Iom is an element that can only be found in space nebulae. With the right catalyst, it produces a massive exothermic reaction, which serves as the basis for ultra-warp drives of the Talon series. In its basic form, Iom generates what is known as aurora radiation, which can trigger changes in the brain when exposed to it over a longer period of time. However, most ship armoring shields the crews from this radiation.
