As one of thirty military training camps on Utopia, Osilon is responsible for all recruits from the area around New Denver and New Vienna. It gained a special status because it produced not only the acting Chief General Harvey Dukes but also other famous personalities of military history.
The infamous torturer Major Bartholomew Banes, who made life difficult for a considerable part of the younger soldiers, is also stationed there. Osilon is close to several training areas and, in addition to training recruits, manages some of the logistical affairs of the surrounding military. Carter Sanders was trained there for two years.
