Together with Gwan’Har, an experienced member of the ancient order of the Shadow Guards, they travel through the dangerous provinces of the realm to claim their inheritance.
On their way to restore the archblade of their ancestor, Quan-Song Xu, they learn much about their father’s past and meet new friends and enemies. They also learn the art of spirit magic, which gives them the power of the Shadow Guards but also carries risks.
Their journey takes them to places from ancient times where incredible discoveries await them. When the Emperor throws their uncle into prison, the brothers join the resistance against his rule and face the cruel Tai Shun, who puts their skills and will to the test.

The Shadow Guard Series
Personally, I think the combination of action, adventure, a strange world, and humor is very successful, and it’s been a long time since I liked the characters in a book so much.
I can recommend this title without hesitation, and I’m already waiting for the sequel!
